Constitution and Bylaws
The current constitutional framework of Mielogos, including Genesis Stage governance, membership foundations, institutional continuity, and the constitutional separation of the Association and The Mielogos Prize.
The current rules of Mielogos should be easy to find, and institutional change should remain visible without making every visitor navigate an archive.
Current instruments first. Decisions and amendments next. Superseded texts preserved, but never confused with what governs now.
Mielogos maintains a clear distinction between current governing instruments and the records that explain how those instruments came to exist.
Website summaries are navigation aids. The authoritative files are the adopted documents themselves. Their versions and checksums are published here so the public record can be inspected without requiring technical expertise.
Five documents presently constitute the public active stack of the Association.
The current constitutional framework of Mielogos, including Genesis Stage governance, membership foundations, institutional continuity, and the constitutional separation of the Association and The Mielogos Prize.
The Association’s operational definition of Symbiotic Authorship, including the three jointly necessary elements and the distinction between textual and creative causal provenance.
Association-wide interpretive principles governing creative freedom, solidarity, decentralization, responsibility, privacy, and institutional restraint.
The active membership framework for Practitioner and Associate Members, including declaration-first membership and privacy-preserving public-identity link verification.
The Association’s conduct and institutional-process framework, including privacy, harassment, retaliation, conflicts, complaints, and proportionate response.
Every formal Genesis Stage adoption, constitutional amendment, and policy amendment remains visible as part of the institutional lineage.
Adopted Constitution and Bylaws v0.1 as the first active Constitution of Mielogos.
Adopted Membership Charter v0.1 as the Association’s initial active membership policy.
Adopted Institutional Definition of Symbiotic Authorship v0.1 as an active foundational instrument.
Adopted Founding Principles v0.1 as an active foundational and interpretive instrument.
Adopted Code of Conduct v0.1 as the Association-wide conduct policy.
Established Constitution v0.2 and clarified that Mielogos and The Mielogos Prize share lineage while remaining institutionally distinct.
Conformed the Definition, Membership Charter, Founding Principles, and Code of Conduct to Constitution v0.2, producing v0.1.1 instruments without changing their underlying policy.
Amended the Membership Charter to v0.2 to verify control of a claimed public identity without routine civil-identity collection.
Previous versions remain available for continuity and audit. They no longer govern Mielogos.
Every public governance file listed on this page has a SHA-256 checksum recorded in a machine-readable register. This makes accidental or unexplained file changes detectable without turning the website into a technical repository.

Drafts, working notes, and testing materials do not acquire normative authority merely because they exist. Only formally active instruments and recorded institutional decisions govern the Association.
Mielogos is intentionally small at launch. Its governance can therefore remain understandable as well as inspectable.
